What this site does with your data
The short version: this site sets no cookies of its own, counts no visitors, and contacts no other company until you ask it to. The long version is below.
Who is responsible

Server logs
Our web host records the usual technical details each time a page is served: the IP address that asked for it, the date and time, which file was sent, and which browser asked. This happens on every website and is needed to deliver pages and to spot attacks. We do not combine these records with anything else and we do not use them to identify anyone.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind.
If you answer the privacy banner, your answer is stored in your own browser so that we do not have to ask again. It stays on your device, it holds nothing but your choice and the date you made it, and it never reaches us.
The map and the video
The contact page can show an interactive Google map, and some pages can play a film hosted on YouTube. Both belong to Google Ireland Limited, and loading either one tells Google your IP address and may let it read or set cookies on your device.
Neither loads on its own. Both stay switched off until you allow them, either in the banner or by clicking the button shown in their place. You can withdraw that permission at any time through the privacy settings link at the bottom of every page.
The drawn map of the roads around the lodge is our own picture and always shows, whatever you decide.
Fonts
The typefaces are stored on this website and served from it. Your browser does not contact Google, or anyone else, to display text.
The enquiry form
The form on the contact page has no server behind it. What you type stays in your browser; pressing the button simply opens your own email app, or WhatsApp, with the message written out for you to send. Nothing is transmitted to us until you send that message yourself, and nothing you type is stored on this website.
Booking
The availability and booking buttons open Sirvoy, the booking system the lodge uses, in a new tab. Sirvoy is run by Sirvoy Limited and has its own privacy policy, which applies from the moment that tab opens.
Your rights
You may ask us what data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, ask us to restrict how we use it, ask for a copy, and object to our using it. Write to mbegalodge@mt-meru.com and we will answer.
If you are in the European Union and think we have handled your data badly, you may also complain to your national data protection authority.

Nothing here is needed to read the site, and nothing is switched on until you switch it on. You can change your mind at any time using the link at the bottom of any page.
